Thoughtful Octopus Birthday Cards

Hi friends!

Today I’m sharing the second of three cards featuring the Thoughtful Octopus stamp set. This one features the Waterside Retreat Designer Series paper, plus the Beautiful Bokeh Designer Series Paper, both of which work really well with this stamp set.

The octopus is stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink, on the Beautiful Bokeh DSP. The small dots and the sea grass images are added underneath the octopus and the party hat is fussy cut and popped up on dimensionals. Both the image panel and sentiment piece are mounted on Azure Afternoon c/s and adhered to the Waterside Retreat DSP.

Thoughtful Octopus Birthday Card

Hi friends!

Looking for ideas for a fun and cute birthday card? Then check out the Thoughtful Octopus stamp set – it’s perfect for cute cards.

For this card, I’ve used the cute octopus as the main focal point, adding the additional bubble image stamps to the head and tentacles of the octopus, to give the appearance of texture to the image. The layout is straightforward, but there’s plenty of opportunity to step it up using the other stamps (as I have done with the area underneath the Octopus) and also adding some fussy cut pieces. I used the Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Series Paper, which works really well with this stamp set.

Exciting Times Birthday Card

Hi friends! Looking for a birthday card for the men in your life? Or anyone who loves being on the water for that matter. This card features a straightforward layout and uses fussy cut pieces from the Waterside Retreat Designer Series Paper to create the focal elements that surround the Exciting Times sentiment label.

After layering some Waterside Retreat DSP onto cardstock, I wrapped some Bakers Twine around the centre, then adhered the cardstock on to the card base, I stamped the label border and sentiment from the Exciting Times stamp set, then punched out with the Rounded Rectangle Punch. I popped it up in the centre of the card, then fussy cut a number of DSP images, then adhered around the label. Tip: don’t ignore those partial DSP images – if the missing part of the image is going to be behind the label, then no one will know, so go ahead and use it!
