Forever Florals Card

Hi friends!  Today I’m sharing another  card featuring the Forever Florals bundle, this time with a softer floral look and a straightforward layout.

The Designer Series Paper really does most of the work for this card. I’ve used a Crumb Cake striped design for the main background, then added a contrasting floral strip through the centre, using the Floral Charm DSP, matted on Blackberry Bliss cardstock. I love using DSP this way, particularly when you have a busier pattern that you don’t necessarily want covering the entire card front. You still get to enjoy the design without it overwhelming everything else.

For the focal point, I’ve layered two large circle dies (Stylish Shapes and Spotlight on Nature) and added the sentiment towards the bottom. The small flower and leaves add a little extra detail and help tie the focal piece back to the floral Designer Series Paper.

I also added a small bow using Linen Thread to the flower stem. It’s only a little detail, but I think it finishes off the floral element nicely.

A few coordinating embellishments scattered around the sentiment add some extra interest and finishes the card.

The layout itself is very straightforward, with just some basic layering, stamping and die cutting. It’s also a really useful design to keep in mind if you have lots of Designer Series Paper to use up. You only need a relatively narrow strip of your feature design, so it’s perfect for some of those leftover pieces we all seem to accumulate!

While I’ve made this as a thinking of you card, it would be very easy to adapt. Change the sentiment and it could work equally well for a birthday, thank you, friendship or even a sympathy card.
