Framed Violets | Birthday Card

Hi friends!

Today I’m sharing a floral birthday card, featuring the Framed Violets bundle with a straightforward layout that it easy to put together.

I’ve used a combination of patterns from the Framed Violets Designer Series Paper for the background, with a floral design running vertically through the centre and a softer striped pattern on either side. The narrow Hydrangea Hue mats help define the different sections without adding too much extra bulk.

For the focal point, I’ve layered two rounded rectangula die cuts and stamped the Happy Birthday to You sentiment on the smaller Basic White layer.

The larger flowers and leaves are arranged along the right-hand side of the sentiment. I like having them overlap the edge of the focal panel rather than keeping everything contained within it.  It makes the flowers feel like a more intentional part of the overall design.

I’ve also added a few smaller floral details and some simple embellishments around the card, then finished the focal area with a white bakers twine bow.

There’s plenty of colour in this card, but because the layout itself is uncomplicated, it doesn’t feel too busy. It would also be very easy to personalise. Change the flowers and coordinating cardstock to match the colours in whatever Designer Series Paper you have on hand.
