Framed Violets | Framed Violets Card

Hi friends!

Today I’m sharing a Sending Love card, featuring the Framed Violets Bundle.  The card has lots of beautiful floral detail and a rich colour combination of Gorgeous Grape, Garden Green and Fresh Freesia. 

There’s quite a bit happening on this card, so I kept the overall layout fairly structured. The dark Designer Series Paper creates a great background for the floral Designer Series Paper in the centre, while the Garden Green mats help separate the different layers and tie in with the leaves in the floral design.

The framed sentiment is definitely the focal point. I’ve die cut a Gorgeous Grape  frame from the Phrases & Frames dies, which is an Impressions die, adding additional embossed detail to the die cut.  I then added a small cluster of flowers and leaves to one side. I like how this brings some of the floral detail from the Designer Series Paper forward onto the sentiment panel without covering too much of the gorgeous paper.

A strip of Fresh Freesia Satin ribbon running behind the sentiment helps break up the darker background and adds another little touch of colour.

I finished the card with a few small embellishments, including some added to the centres of the flowers. There are quite a few layers and details here, but none of them are particularly complicated. It’s really just a matter of building the card one element at a time.

The Sending Love sentiment makes this suitable for quite a few occasions too. It could be used as a thinking of you card, friendship card, get well card, or simply when you want someone to know they’re in your thoughts.
