Today I have another tutorial for you, this time from the very talented Tina Hewett! These tutorials have been created by members of the SSE Tutorial Share Group, who have worked together to create tutorials to share with one another, enabling members to share a range of projects with our team members and customers.
This card uses the Seascape stamp set with the alcohol ink background and it looks amazing!
- Bermuda Bay: 21cm x 14.8cm, scored in half at 10.5cm and folded to create a card base
- So Saffron: 13.8cm x 9.5cm
- Blushing Bride: scrap approx. 10cm x 5cm
- Basic White: 14.3cm x 10cm, 13.3cm x 9cm, scrap approx. 6cm x 5cm
- Vellum: 13.3cm x 9cm
Scribble on the Vellum cardstock using the brush ends of the Stampin Blends alcohol markers. Make sure you have most of the piece covered in scribbles:
Pour a small amount of 91% – 100% isopropyl alcohol in a small cup or shallow dish. Use a paint brush or empty Water Brush to pick up the alcohol and dab onto the vellum scribbles, and watch the magic happen! Go slowly, dabbing a little at a time, so as not to end up with a wash. You can use a heat tool to stop the spread, and if you end up with too much clear space you can scribble over again with a Stampin’ Blend marker. Set aside to dry.
Die cut the seahorse from a scrap of Blushing Bride cardstock but leave the die cut in the cardstock. Use a Blending Brush to apply Crushed Curry, Calypso Coral and Cajun Craze ink in an ombre fashion starting with the lightest colour at the top:
Carefully cut the seahorse away from the cardstock with a craft knife or snips – it is not cut all the way through on either side of its fin and on its belly.
Die cut the coral piece from the So Saffron panel, put back into the cardstock panel and use the same 3 ink colours to apply colour with a Blending Brush. The rest of the panel will be used as a mat. Adhere the So Saffon panel to the card front.
Adhere the Vellum to the 13.3cm x 9cm Basic White panel. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue, applied with a sponge. Adhere this to the card front.
For the card insert, stamp the gritty image in Sahara Sand a few times at the bottom of the 14.3cm x 10cm Basic White panel, stamp the reed image in Cajun Craze in the bottom right corner, and stamp the trio of fish in Calypso Coral ink in the top left corner.
Adhere to the inside of the card.
Stamp the greeting onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock in Bermuda Bay ink and die cut with one of the Tasteful Labels dies. Sponge the edges of the die cut with Bermuda Bay ink using a dauber.
Arrange the elements on the card front. Use Dimensionals and Mini Dimensionals to adhere the seahorse, coral and greeting to the card front. Add a few Opal Rounds for bling.
