Woodland Wishes Christmas Card

Hi friends,

For the second project in this week’s Woodland Wishes Online Class to Go, I’ve gone with a completely different look and focused on some of the individual animal images in the stamp set.

I love the little deer and bear, and rather than trying to create one large scene, I gave each of them their own circular panel.

The patterned forest background works perfectly with the woodland theme and means there really isn’t much else needed to fill the card front. I’ve used three layered circles, placing the deer in one, the bear in another and the Holiday Greetings sentiment in the third, each layered on a Real Red and Pretty Peacock circle.

The sentiment panel also includes some of the smaller images from the Woodland Wishes stamp set. These little stamps are useful for filling small spaces and tying the individual elements of a design together.

The animals only need some simple colouring, which also works well with the softer, watercolour-style trees in the background.  A little baker’s twine on the sentiment circle and a few scattered embellishments finish everything off.
