Neutral Noel Christmas Card

Hi friends!

There’s something about a little snowy Christmas village that instantly feels peaceful and Christmassy, (even in Australia where Christmas is in Summer),  and for this card I’ve used the Stampin’ Up! Neutral Noel Suite to create a simple winter scene.

This is the first of three Neutral Noel projects from this week’s Online Class to Go, and I wanted to show just how much you can do with the different elements in the suite without needing to make an overly complicated card.

The main panel starts with a snowy white landscape, with a row of houses and pine trees stretching across the background. I used Crumb Cake for the houses and Mossy Meadow for the trees, then added two little deer walking across the snow in the foreground.

I particularly like the amount of open white space in this design. It gives the card a calm, uncluttered feel and allows the little village scene to be the focus.

Rather than using lots of traditional bright Christmas colours, I kept most of the card to neutral tones, with just a touch of red for the sentiment.

The patterned paper surrounding the scene adds another layer of pine trees and some subtle gold detail. It frames the central panel beautifully without overpowering the central panel.

A few sparkly embellishments scattered around the scene finish everything off and add a little Christmas shine.

One of the things I like about the Neutral Noel Suite is the ability to build your own Christmas scenes. The houses, trees and deer can be arranged differently each time, so you don’t have to create exactly the same scene on every card.

You could easily make this design simpler for producing Christmas cards in larger numbers, or add more houses, trees and other details if you enjoy creating more elaborate scenes.
