Merriest Tags Christmas Fun Fold

Hi friends,

I had to include a fun fold for the final project in this week’s Merriest Tags Online Class to Go!

This card has a very different look from the first two projects. Instead of one large tag as the main focal point, I’ve used several smaller tag-shaped panels across the front and decorated them with stockings and candy canes.

The dark snowflake paper makes a great background for the Cherry Cobbler and Basic White elements. I like the contrast here, particularly with the images stamped on Basic White, as it really helps them stand out.

Across the top and bottom panels, I added groups of stockings stamped in Peaceful Pine and Cherry Cobbler.  The centre panel holds the Merry Christmas greeting, surrounded by candy canes. Using the same tag shape for all three sections helps tie everything together even though the stamped elements are different.

A little baker’s twine through the ends of the tags continues the gift tag theme from the other cards in this week’s class. I also added some small Real Red & White Adhesive Backed Peppermints and Adhesive Backed Snowflake embellishments around the card.

Of course, the fun part of this one is the fold itself. It gives you something a little unexpected when the card is opened, while the front still works as a complete design when it’s closed.

Fun folds don’t necessarily need complicated techniques or lots of extra supplies. Sometimes changing the way the card base opens is enough to turn a relatively simple design into something quite different.
